How UDOSA collects, uses and protects your information on the elections platform.
This platform is operated by UDOSA, the University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School Old Students Association, to run secure online elections for its members.
We collect the details you provide when you register or are added by an administrator — your name, email address, Registration ID and set year. When you vote, we record that a ballot was cast so that each member votes only once per position. Individual ballot choices are stored to compute results and are not linked publicly to your identity.
Your information is used solely to verify your membership, administer elections, prevent duplicate voting, and communicate with you about your account (for example, password resets). We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing.
Access to member data is restricted to authorised administrators and set-year representatives. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, and connections to the platform are encrypted in transit.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting the association. Some records may be retained where necessary to preserve the integrity of past election results.
